With the indulgence of Christmas behind us, now is the time to pen your 2017 new year’s resolutions.
Figures indicate that as few as 8% of people stick to their new year’s resolutions, what is the best approach to take at this time of year when setting goals?
One of the most important things we recommended people is to base each resolution on its intrinsic value rather than external motivators.

Here’s our Top-4 Checklist to consider when setting New Year goals.

1. Set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time limited or framed)
2. Connect with values – Focus on what will bring you internal happiness and contentment
3. Make them visual and be accountable – A great way is by making them visual (a list on your fridge, or a daily reminder on your phone) and telling someone else about your goal can really help motivate and remind us to keep at it!
3. Be flexible and review regularly – You should check in with your values and goal setting periodically throughout the year because it’s never too late to see where you’re at.

Hope your new year is off to a great start! Remember, it’s never to late to set goals for yourself.
