π Did you know? Our Director and clinical psychologist Rachael has an adventurous side! π Back in university, she pursued archaeology as a second major with dreams of becoming an archaeologist. Rewind back to 2009: Rachael joined an APS tour of South America, exploring both mental health facilities and archaeological wonders. Here she is at Machu Picchu, soaking in the rich history and culture. ποΈ Rachaelβs passion for psychology led her to further studies in this field, but sheβs a firm believer in exploring different paths in life to foster growth. π Remember, embracing diverse interests not only adds depth to our lives but also helps us evolve into well-rounded individuals. #FunFact #ArchaeologistAtHeart #PsychologyAdventures #ExploreYourPassions πΈ: APS Tour, 2009 ... For those who have served and are struggling with PTSD, know that you're not alone. Here are some tips to cope if you're feeling triggered:
1. Reach out for support: Whether it's friends, family, or a professional, talking about your feelings can help lighten the burden.
2. Practice self-care: Engage in activities that bring you peace and joy, whether it's going for a walk, practicing mindfulness, or indulging in a hobby.
3. Create a safe space: Identify triggers and develop strategies to manage them. This could involve avoiding certain situations or practicing relaxation techniques.
4. Seek professional help: There are many effective treatments available for PTSD, including therapy and medication. Don't hesitate to reach out to a healthcare provider.
5. Connect with fellow veterans: Sharing experiences with others who have been through similar challenges can provide a sense of understanding and camaraderie.
Remember, healing takes time, and it's okay to ask for help. Your strengt#anzacday #lestweforgetc#ptsdawarenessy #LestWeForget #PTSDAwareness ... See MoreSee Less

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what it's done for me in this short time..

π Embracing the Journey of Therapy π
Just like these squiggly lines captured by Equilab, progress in therapy can sometimes feel like a series of twists and turns. π Starting, doing the work, making strides forward, then pausing to reflect before diving back in. π It's a cycle of growth, setbacks, and breakthroughs.
In therapy, progress isn't always linearβit's about trusting the process and celebrating the small victories along the way. π Each step forward, no matter how small, is a testament to your strength and resilience. πͺ Keep going, keep trusting, and remember, you're making progress every#TherapyJourneyy#trusttheprocessn#progressnotperfectionrogressNotPerfection ...
